Commercial Solar & Battery Storage in Uganda
Stable, affordable power for Ugandan factories and agribusiness.
Engineered and supported from our Kampala office at Nakawa House.
Solar and storage for Ugandan industry
For Ugandan manufacturers, the cost of power is only part of the problem. Voltage fluctuations and outages stop production lines, damage motors and drives, and push plants onto expensive diesel generators. Uganda’s strong, year-round sunshine makes on-site solar one of the most effective ways to take control of both cost and reliability.
Ariya Finergy designs and builds commercial and industrial solar PV, battery storage and power stabilisation systems in Uganda, supported by our Kampala team. At Gentex Enterprises in Kampala, a 2.6 MWp solar array with 2.6 MWh of battery storage and power stabilisation lifted production by 30%. The same approach now keeps both of a leading pipe and tank manufacturer’s Kampala plants running, even fully off-grid.
Each system integrates solar, batteries, the grid and your generators under our Vision Controller, which switches seamlessly between sources and corrects voltage in real time.
What we deliver in Uganda
From feasibility to long-term operations, with a single accountable partner.
Power stabilisation
Automatic voltage and power-factor correction that ends dips, surges and flicker on the factory floor.
Battery energy storage
Battery-backed continuity that keeps critical lines running through outages and reduces generator hours.
Commercial solar PV
Rooftop and ground-mount arrays sized to your daytime load, built by Ariya’s own crews.
Grid connection and approvals in Uganda
Since 1 April 2025, Uganda’s electricity distribution network has been operated by the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL), which took over from Umeme. The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) regulates the sector.
Ariya handles the technical design, the grid-interconnection process with UEDCL and the regulatory paperwork, so your team can focus on production. After commissioning, every system is monitored 24/7, with fault response and preventive maintenance under a clear service agreement.
FAQ
Solar in Uganda: frequently asked questions
Who distributes electricity in Uganda now?
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has operated the distribution network since 1 April 2025, when Umeme’s concession ended. Ariya coordinates grid connection for solar systems with UEDCL.
Can solar stop voltage fluctuations at my Kampala factory?
Solar on its own does not, but Ariya’s power stabilisation does. Our systems correct voltage automatically and, combined with battery storage, carry production through outages. At Gentex Enterprises this lifted output by 30%.
Does Ariya have a team in Uganda?
Yes. Our Kampala office is on the 4th Floor of Nakawa House, Port Bell Road, and supports projects across Uganda.
Do I need capital to go solar in Uganda?
No. Ariya offers power purchase agreements and leases with zero upfront cost, as well as outright purchase.
How long does a commercial solar project take?
Typically 8–16 weeks from contract to commissioning, depending on system size and approvals.
